'मराठा समाजातील काही संघटनाकडून ओबीसी कोट्यातून मराठा समाजासाठी आरक्षणाची मागणी होत आहे , तसे आरक्षण दिल्यास मूळ ५२ टक्के ओबीसींचे २७ टक्के आरक्षण धोक्यात येणार आहे. 

त्याने मंडल आयोगाच्या अंमलबजावणीनंतर विकासाच्या प्रक्रियेत आलेल्या ओबीसी समाजाच्या प्रगतीला खीळ बसेल. ओबीसी आरक्षणाला धक्का लावण्याचा प्रयत्न झाल्यास रस्त्यावर उतरू', असा इशारा आज धनगर समाजाचे नेते आणि ओबीसी संघर्ष सेनेचे अध्यक्ष प्रा.लक्ष्मण हाके यांनी पुण्यात दिला आहे.

यावेळी हाके म्हणाले की, मराठा समाज हा महाराष्ट्राच्या समाज व्यवस्थेमध्ये नेहमी राज्यकर्ती जमात म्हणून मुख्य भूमिकेत राहिला आहे.

शेकडो वर्षांपासून आर्थिक संसाधने ,शेती ,कारखानदारी ,सहकार ,शिक्षण संस्था ,राजकारण यामध्ये मराठा समाजाने व्यापलेली आहेत. सरपंच पदापासून अलीकडेपर्यंत मुख्यमंत्री पदही मराठा समाजाकडे होते. 

काही प्रमाणात मराठा समाज मागास राहिला असेल तर त्याला मराठा राज्यकर्तेच जबाबदार आहेत. 

 आरक्षण म्हणजे 'गरिबी हटाव ' कार्यक्रम नाही, हे त्यांनी लक्षात घेतले पाहिजे. सामाजिक न्यायासह समता प्रस्थापित होण्यासाठी वंचित घटकांना प्रतिनिधित्व देणे हा आरक्षणाचा मूळ उद्देश आहे. 

मंडल आयोगाच्या अंमल बजावणीनंतर काही प्रमाणात शिक्षण आणि नोकऱ्यांमध्ये ओबीसींना प्रतिनिधित्व मिळायला सुरुवात झाली आहे. त्यातही मराठा समाज वाटेकरी झाल्यास ५२ टक्के ओबीसी समाज रस्त्यावर उतरेल आणि संघर्ष करेल,असे प्रा हाके यांनी या पत्रकात म्हटले आहे.

Some organizations in the Maratha community are demanding reservation for the Maratha community from the OBC quota.

He said that after the implementation of the Mandal Commission, the progress of the OBC community in the development process would be hampered. If there is an attempt to push OBC reservation, we will take to the streets', this warning has been given by Prof. Laxman Hake, leader of Dhangar Samaj and President of OBC Sangharsh Sena in Pune today.

At this time, Hake said that the Maratha community has always played a major role in the social system of Maharashtra as the ruling community.

For hundreds of years, the Maratha community has been involved in economic resources, agriculture, industry, co-operation, educational institutions, politics. From the post of Sarpanch till recently, the post of Chief Minister was held by the Maratha community.

If the Maratha community is left behind to some extent, then the Maratha rulers are responsible for it.

 They should keep in mind that reservation is not a 'poverty alleviation' program. The basic purpose of reservation is to represent the disadvantaged in order to establish equality with social justice.

OBCs have started getting representation in education and jobs to some extent after the implementation of the Mandal Commission. If the Maratha community gets involved in this too, 52% of the OBC community will take to the streets and struggle, said Prof. Hake in this paper.
